The Kick-off Meeting for the National Competence Centres for Social Innovation (NCCs), beneficiaries of the 2023 Call, was a major event for the NCC community this season. The selected beneficiaries engaged with key stakeholders and gained insights into managing and implementing the NCC projects under the ESF+ SI+ initiative.

The event covered an overview of the Call and various Lump sum grant project management aspects, including the management of grant agreements, reporting and payments. Participants engaged in discussions on core elements of transnational cooperation, best practices from previous calls, and lessons learned.

Attendees were introduced to the work of the National Competence Centres Working Group (WG), operating under the Community of Practice on Social Innovation since 2023. The main purpose of the NCC WG is to support the development of the NCCs in all EU member states.

Detailed presentations on the activities, outputs, and future plans of the NCC WG were provided.

During the mutual learning workshop, participants discussed the four steps proposal to work in teams with member states with similar capacities and needs allowing a more personalized support for each country. Main focus was on the implemented self-assessment process, which was built on the logic and core elements of the Theory of Change that NCCs and ESF+ Managing Authorities have been developing throughout 2023. This process is intended to help assess the overall situation and develop a collaborative learning process tailored to each situation.

Additionally, the event covered possible operational and financial models, and the collaborative learning pathway. Participants also co-designed the support process for NCC implementation. This workshop fostered a collaborative environment, enabling participants to share experiences, address challenges, and develop innovative solutions together. Attendees actively shared their thoughts and expectations and participated in Q&A sessions, allowing for clarifications and idea exchanges.

The event was highly successful, marked by engaging discussions, valuable insights, and a strengthened sense of community among the NCC beneficiaries. We extend our sincere thanks to all participants for their active involvement and look forward to future meetings.
