Social innovations to transform challenges to opportunities in employment and social inclusion of women fleeing from Ukraine

The project aims to increase the inclusion of Ukrainian (UA) women in the labour market and society in countries of their temporary residence due to the War conditions by exploring opportunities for self-employment in the cultural and creative sectors (CCS) with the support of local CCS businesses. To achieve the aim, the project develops an educational-social Model “Successful UA women in CCS” with social innovative solutions to help UA women. The Model is based on a dual approach: 1) to increase women’s motivation and competences for self-employment in CCS for integration into labour market 2) to implement social support mechanism by organizing UA Women’s days, which goes beyond simply providing access to employment opportunities, but also encourages the commitment of local population and local businesses to ensure social integration of Ukrainian’s women. Matching the UA women’s developed business ideas with the local businesses in the field is one of the tasks of the Day and is a strong supporting mechanism for encouraging women to make positive changes in their today’s insecure lives.
Objectives are:
- to motivate UA women for self-employment in CCS
- to enhance UA women’s competencies and skills for self-employment in CCS
- to implement UA Women’s Day as a social support mechanism for women’s social inclusion to the labour market and society
- to ensure the facilitation of the Model
To achieve objectives, the educational-social Model “Successful UA women in CCS” is developed with 4 modules:
1. Motivation workshop “Innovation solutions in CCS for Ukrainian Women”
2. e-Studio “Women’s self-employment in CCS-how to be successful”
3. “Ukrainian Women’s Day” – a social support mechanism for integration into the labour market and society
4. E-Toolkit for facilitators of the Model
The project corresponds to the Call’s objective “Integration and social inclusion of refugees fleeing Ukraine” and Call purpose “Using social innovations to transform the refugee situation into opportunity.
